Protect the surface you already have.

Surface dressing is a treatment applied to an existing pavement. It uses binder and aggregate rather than laying a new asphalt wearing course.

It can be considered where the underlying pavement remains suitable. Areas with structural failure or significant defects may need repairs or a different treatment first. Macrete can discuss the options after reviewing your route.

Choose the approach around the pavement.

Before you enquire.

Is surface dressing the same as resurfacing?

No. Surface dressing treats an existing pavement with binder and aggregate. Resurfacing involves laying a new asphalt surface course.

Will it repair a failed base?

A surface treatment does not rebuild a failed foundation. Significant defects need assessment and may require repairs or reconstruction first.

When can the route reopen?

Reopening and any temporary restrictions depend on the treatment, conditions and site. These arrangements should be agreed as part of the work plan.
